Tyre pressure check
The short answer
A mobile tyre pressure check in Dubai is AED 100 per visit. The technician measures all five tyres cold, sets them to your car's placard value, tests for slow leaks, inspects tread depth and DOT age, and resets the TPMS warning light. Nitrogen inflation can be added on the same visit.
Why pressure matters so much in the UAE
Underinflation is the single biggest cause of summer tyre blowouts on UAE highways. An underinflated tyre flexes more, heats up, and on a 45 °C afternoon at 120 km/h that heat builds until the structure fails. Tyres also lose roughly 1 psi a month naturally — so a car not checked since spring can easily be 5–6 psi down by July.
What the right pressure is
Use the figure on the sticker inside the driver's door (or fuel flap), not the maximum printed on the tyre sidewall. Typical cold values:
| Car type | Typical cold pressure |
|---|---|
| Small sedan / hatchback (Yaris, Sunny) | 32–34 psi |
| Mid sedan (Camry, Altima, Accord) | 33–36 psi |
| Mid SUV (RAV4, Tucson, X-Trail) | 35–36 psi |
| Large SUV (Land Cruiser, Patrol, Tahoe) | 32–35 psi (more when fully loaded) |
| Space-saver spare | 60 psi |
Check cold — before driving, or after the car has been parked in shade for a few hours. A reading taken right after a drive on a summer afternoon can be 4–5 psi higher; don't let air out then.
Is nitrogen worth it?
Nitrogen leaks a little more slowly than air and contains no moisture, so pressures stay steadier through temperature swings. It doesn't replace regular checks. If your tyres already have nitrogen, topping up with air is perfectly safe.
TPMS warning light
If the light stays on after inflation, either a sensor battery has died (they last 5–8 years), a sensor was damaged during a tyre change, or the system needs relearning. We read the sensor IDs with a TPMS tool and replace or relearn on the spot.

What UAE drivers say
-
Khalid Al Mansoori MirdifFlat tyre on the Patrol at 11 pm outside the house. Technician was there in 35 minutes, had the right 20-inch tyre in the van and finished in half an hour. Price was exactly what they told me on WhatsApp.
-
Priya Raman JLTBooked a set of four Michelins for my CR-V. They fitted them in the basement of my building while I was on calls. Showed me the manufacture date on each tyre before fitting, which nobody has ever done for me.
-
Mark Dela Cruz Al Nahda, SharjahScrew in my tyre on a Friday morning. They plugged it in the car park, checked the other three and set the pressures. AED 80, done in 20 minutes.
-
Sarah Whitfield Arabian RanchesPaid with Tabby for new tyres on the Range Rover — split into four, no interest. The guy was careful with the wheels and left the driveway cleaner than he found it.
Common questions
Common questions
What tyre pressure should I use in Dubai summer?
Use your car's door-placard pressure, measured cold. Don't reduce pressure for heat — underinflation is what causes blowouts.
How much does a tyre pressure check cost?
AED 100 per visit at your location, covering all five tyres, leak test, age and tread report and TPMS reset.
Why is my tyre pressure light on but the tyres look fine?
Tyres can be 25% low before they look flat. If pressures are correct, the sensor battery may be failing or the system needs relearning.
Flat tyre? A technician can be on the way in minutes.
Send your location and a photo of the tyre sidewall. We'll confirm the price and arrival time straight away — 24 hours a day.
