About Bridgestone
Shojiro Ishibashi founded Bridgestone in Kurume, Japan, in 1931 — the name is an English rendering of his surname, 'stone bridge'. It bought Firestone in 1988, and today runs factories on every continent. Bridgestone has a regional presence in the UAE and supplies many Japanese carmakers' Gulf-spec vehicles.
