Roadside tyre help when you are stuck on a UAE highway
Most tyre breakdowns do not need a tow truck. They need someone with a jack, the right tyre and a safe plan. Here is what to do and what we do when we arrive.
- No tow in most cases
- 24 hours, all emirates
- New tyre on board
Roadside tyre assistance
The short answer
800 Tyres provides roadside tyre assistance across Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah 24 hours a day, from AED 100 per visit. A technician reaches you in about 30 minutes on average in Dubai and 40 in Sharjah and Abu Dhabi, then repairs the puncture, fits your spare or supplies a new tyre on the spot. Most cars are driving again without a tow.
The first five minutes: getting safe
When a tyre fails on the E11 or E311, the danger is the traffic, not the tyre. Follow these steps in order:
- Hold the wheel straight and ease off. Do not brake hard. Let the car slow down and indicate right.
- Get as far right as possible. Use the hard shoulder, or better, take the next exit if you can reach it at low speed. A ruined tyre is cheaper than a stop in a live lane.
- Hazard lights on as soon as you start slowing.
- Everyone out on the passenger side and behind the barrier, away from the car. Never stand between the car and traffic.
- Place the warning triangle well behind the car if you can do it safely.
- Do not change the tyre yourself on the traffic side of a highway. Trucks pass within a metre of the shoulder.
- If you are blocking a lane or anyone is hurt, call the police first. We come after that.
What to tell us when you call or WhatsApp
A clear message gets the right van with the right tyre:
- Your live location pin. On highways, also the direction of travel and the nearest exit or landmark, such as "Sheikh Zayed Road towards Abu Dhabi, after the Mall of the Emirates exit".
- Which tyre and what happened: a bang, a slow deflation, a nail you can see.
- The tyre size from the sidewall if you can read it safely, otherwise the car model and year.
- If you have a usable spare, and if the car has run-flat tyres.
What happens when we arrive
The technician parks the van behind your car with its lights on as a buffer, then assesses the tyre. There are three likely outcomes:
| Situation | What we do | Price from |
|---|---|---|
| Nail or screw in the tread, tyre not driven flat | Plug-patch repair and reinflate | AED 80 |
| Tyre destroyed, spare in good condition | Fit your spare, check its pressure and DOT date | AED 100 |
| Tyre destroyed, no usable spare | Supply and fit a new tyre from the van | AED 100 fitting + tyre from AED 150 |
If the highway shoulder is too narrow to work safely, we may ask you to drive slowly to the next exit or petrol station with the hazards on, or we tow the car a short distance with you. We do not change wheels where it puts you or the technician at risk. More about the specific job is on our flat tyre service page.
Roadside does not only mean highways
Plenty of our roadside call-outs happen in places a tow truck cannot reach at all: a tower basement in Dubai Marina, a mall car park at night, a compound in Mirdif, or a sand track off the Al Qudra road. Our vans carry low-profile jacks for basements with low ceilings. If you are underground, tell us the level and bay number, and if mobile signal is weak, send the pin from street level first.
Electric cars and cars with no spare
Many newer cars, including the Tesla Model 3 and Model Y and most BMWs, leave the factory without a spare wheel. Some come with a sealant kit, which can get you moving after a small tread puncture but does not work on a sidewall cut or a blown tyre, and the sealant has to be cleaned out before a proper repair. If your car has no spare, say so when you get in touch so we can load a matching tyre before leaving. Electric cars are heavy, so we lift them only at the jacking points the maker specifies.
Avoiding the next roadside stop
UAE police have repeatedly named tyre blowouts as a leading cause of summer crashes. Most roadside tyre failures we attend share the same causes: under-inflation, an old tyre that has hardened in the heat, or a slow puncture ignored for weeks. Check pressures cold every two weeks, look at the DOT date, and do not leave a TPMS warning on. Our tyre maintenance guide sets out a five-minute monthly routine.
And check your spare. A roadside stop is the worst time to discover the spare has been flat since the car was new.
Night rate is the same as the day rate. A call at 3am on the Emirates Road costs the same AED 100 visit fee as one in daylight.

What UAE drivers say
-
Khalid Al Mansoori MirdifFlat tyre on the Patrol at 11 pm outside the house. Technician was there in 35 minutes, had the right 20-inch tyre in the van and finished in half an hour. Price was exactly what they told me on WhatsApp.
-
Priya Raman JLTBooked a set of four Michelins for my CR-V. They fitted them in the basement of my building while I was on calls. Showed me the manufacture date on each tyre before fitting, which nobody has ever done for me.
-
Mark Dela Cruz Al Nahda, SharjahScrew in my tyre on a Friday morning. They plugged it in the car park, checked the other three and set the pressures. AED 80, done in 20 minutes.
-
Sarah Whitfield Arabian RanchesPaid with Tabby for new tyres on the Range Rover — split into four, no interest. The guy was careful with the wheels and left the driveway cleaner than he found it.
Common questions
Common questions
Do I need a tow truck for a flat tyre on the highway?
Usually not. We repair, fit your spare or supply a new tyre at the roadside. A tow is only needed if the wheel, suspension or rim is badly damaged.
How fast can you reach me on Sheikh Zayed Road?
Average arrival in Dubai is about 30 minutes, depending on traffic and which direction you are travelling. Send your live location and nearest exit.
Is it safe to change a tyre on the hard shoulder myself?
Not on the traffic side of a busy highway. Get everyone behind the barrier and let a technician with a van as a buffer do the work, or move to an exit first.
Can you help if my car has run-flat tyres and no spare?
Yes. Run-flats can usually be driven slowly to a safe spot, and we carry run-flat sizes or source one quickly. Run-flat tyres start from AED 500 fitted.
Do you help in underground car parks?
Yes. Our low-profile jacks work in tower and mall basements. Tell us the level and bay number when you book.
Flat tyre? A technician can be on the way in minutes.
Send your location and a photo of the tyre sidewall. We'll confirm the price and arrival time straight away — 24 hours a day.
