Cheap tyres in Dubai that are still new, safe and legal

Cheap is fine. Old is not.

An economy tyre from a reputable budget brand will get a Nissan Sunny or Toyota Yaris around Dubai safely for years. The problem with many cheap tyres in the UAE is not the brand; it is the age. Tyres sit in hot warehouses, and a shop that bought a container three years ago has every reason to sell it cheaply now. In the UAE, a tyre is valid for five years from its manufacture date, used or not. A bargain tyre made in 2022 has very little legal life left.

So our rule is simple: the cheapest tyre we sell is still a new tyre with a recent DOT date, and you see that date before we fit it.

Our cheapest tyres and what they cost

The four-fitted figure is four tyres plus the AED 100 fitting visit. With a set of four, balancing, nitrogen and old-tyre disposal are included. Larger sizes cost more in every tier; send your size and we will price the cheapest sensible option.

Budget brands we stock

• Zeetex — widely used on UAE taxis and fleet cars, with sizes for most small sedans.
• Triangle — large range including SUV and light-truck sizes.
• GT Radial — a common budget choice for compact cars.
• Nexen — sits at the upper end of budget, close to mid-range.

If the cheapest option is not available in your size, the next step up is usually a mid-range tyre from Kumho, Hankook or Maxxis, starting at AED 250.

When a cheap tyre is the right choice

Economy tyres make sense when:

• The car is a small, light sedan or hatchback used mainly in the city.
• You drive fewer than about 15,000 km a year, so the tyres will reach their age limit before wearing out.
• You are selling the car soon and need it to pass inspection with legal tyres.
• The car is a second family car or a runabout.

They make less sense on a heavy SUV like a Patrol or Land Cruiser, a car regularly driven at 120–140 km/h between emirates, or any car on run-flat tyres. Why we do not sell used tyres

Used tyres are the cheapest of all, and they carry the most unknowns: hidden repairs, an unknown history of running under-inflated, and often an age close to or past the five-year limit. Driving on unfit tyres in the UAE can mean an AED 500 fine, four black points and impoundment of the car. A new economy tyre at AED 150 is a safer use of the money than a used premium tyre at a similar price.

Other ways to spend less on tyres

• Keep pressures right. Under-inflation wears the shoulders and wastes fuel. Check monthly, in the morning, before driving.
• Rotate tyres. It is free on any fitting visit and evens out wear so all four last longer.
• Fix alignment. A car that pulls will wear the inner edge of a new tyre in months. Alignment is from AED 99 at a partner workshop.

Checking the date on a cheap tyre

Whichever shop you buy from, read the DOT code on the sidewall before the tyre goes on. The last four digits give the week and year of manufacture: 0925 means week 9 of 2025. If a shop will not show you the code, or the tyre has been in stock for years, the low price is not a bargain. A tyre made three years ago and sold at a discount has only two years of legal use left, which works out more expensive per year than a fresh tyre at full price.
